About the Product
The Acc U Rate® CMS 500DL Pro Series Fingertip Pulse Oximeter was born primarily due to customer’s frustration with the CMS 50DL. The CMS 50DL was slow, sensitive to movement, inaccurate under indoor lighting and was able to read SpO2 only up to 99%. With the help of more than 2000 customers' feedback, we went back to the drawing board and redesign the pulse oximeter. After more than 2 years of testing, we are proud to finally announce the launch of the Acc U Rate® CMS 500DL Pro Series Fingertip Pulse Oximeter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sometimes, I don't get any reading, or it takes a very long time. Is it possible my unit is defective? I believe I'm using it as instructed.
If your fingers are cold it may take a while before a reading is registered. In this instant, you can rub your hands vigorously or submerge them in warm water, to get the blood flowing, before using the oximeter. Please also ensure that your finger is fully inserted when taking the reading. It usually takes between 8-10 seconds for the oximeter get a reading. However, there is also the possibility that you might have received a defective unit.
What is the difference between CMS 500D and CMS 500DL models?
There are several differences between the CMS 500DL & the CMS 500D. The CMS 500DL is the basic model with an LED single direction display. The CMS 500D is the deluxe version with an OLED (organic LED) multi-directional display options. Additionally, it has the plethysmograph display - a graph that corresponds to your pulse/heart rate thus enabling you to gauge the amount of blood detected by the pulse oximeter. This version also has the sound (beep), alarm function and brightness setting.
Can batteries be replaced with ordinary AAA batteries?
Yes. As long as they're AAA, any brand or type can be used with it.
Can this unit be used with PEDIATRIC patients?
Yes. However, for the best and most accurate results we highly recommend using our pediatric pulse oximeters instead which are specifically made for children. The finger chamber of the Standard Pulse Oximeter may be too big for a person with small fingers. This can affect the accuracy of the reading.
Is this new version compatible with Sleepyhead? And does it have an internal clock?
Unfortunately, it is not compatible with sleepyhead or any other computer program. It is a standalone device. It only displays data, it does not record or store data at all. It has no way of exporting info or connecting to a computer. There are devices in the market that is capable of doing this task for you.
How high does the oximeter read? Will it read over 100?
The pulse oximeter has the ability to display oxygen saturation level of between 35% - 100%.
How long does the unit stay on?
The pulse oximeter stays on as long as you have your finger in the finger chamber. It turns off automatically within 15-20 seconds after you remove your finger.
Does the unit detect an irregular heartbeat?
Yes it does.
How will you know if the battery is low? Is it gonna have an effect on the results?
Please note that the flashing battery icon that appears each time you turn on the device indicates that the device is checking the power supply. It disappears after 2-3 blinks. If the battery icon remains on the LED display, then it is an indication of low battery level.
Is there an alarm for min/max pulse rate on this unit?
This pulse oximeter is able to measure pulse rate of between 30 and 235 bpm.
Is this device water resistant?
Please note that the CMS 500DL is not water resistant. In fact, in the User Manual, under "Storage & Transportation" it clearly states that you need to "guard against moisture."
How accurate is the pulse oximeter?
The pulse oximeter is very accurate. Reading accuracy is within +/- 2%.
When I bought the device months ago, it worked. I haven't used it since that time. I tried it moments ago and it didn't work. What could be the problem?
It could simply be a battery problem. Please note though that the battery placement for the oximeter is different from others, in that even though the 2 springs are on the same side, the 2 batteries are still required to be installed in opposite polarity. If this doesn't work you can contact us directly and we will provide further troubleshooting options. If we cannot get the item to work again we will provide you a replacement. All we will need is your order number. We stand 100% behind our product and will try our best to do everything to make this right for you.
